ICUIL 2026 Conference, St Andrews, UK

The 11th International Conference on Ultrahigh Intensity Lasers (ICUIL 2026) will be hosted by the UK's Central Laser Facility in the historic town of St. Andrews on the east coast of Scotland, UK, from Nov. 8th to 13th, 2026.

Well known internationally as the home of golf and location of the Old Course, one of the oldest and most iconic golf courses in the world, St Andrews can trace its origins to medieval times, and the ruin of St Andrews Cathedral provides a dramatic skyline for the town. The University of St Andrews is one of the oldest in the English-speaking world, with a strong and proud academic tradition and adding a vibrant atmosphere to the town. The university has also played a pioneering role in laser science, developing ultrafast laser technologies with global applications in medicine and communications.

The coastal location of St Andrews provides outstandingly beautiful natural landscapes, with sandy beaches and cliff top walks. The conference venue, the Fairmont St Andrews hotel, is a luxurious 5* resort located on a 520-acre estate with cliff-top views of the North Sea. It features two championship golf courses and a spa along with high quality accommodation and dining options.

We look forward to welcoming you to the ICUIL conference in St Andrews in November 2026.
